To enhance this true heritage was born the project of the Roads National Tourist who intends to improve the quality of the roads, creating parks, scenic spots and parking areas, and expanding the campground. There are currently four routes that fall into the category of "National Tourist Roads: Rv 55: The Road Sognefjell. 250 km. Vadheim away from Lom to Sogndal (Sogn and Fjordane regions / Oppland), RV 258: The Old Road Strynefjell. 25 km. by Grotli to Videseter (Sogn and Fjordane / Oppland), Rv 7: Hardanger Tourist Route, 426 km. Hønefoss away from Bergen to Geilo (Hordaland), Rv 17: Route 17 that runs along the coast from Steinkjer to Bodø. 650 km (Nordland). When the project comes to an end in the coming years will be less than 18 routes and cover 1850 km of road network.
