Scarponradio 2010 - Avelengo Alpenrose (April 17, 2010)

Saturday, April 17 we decided to make the first release of the Team "59più20" also to try some new antennas.
We then decided to go in the area between here and Avelengo and Verano, a few hundred meters above the Alpenrose hotel we found a nice yard where you can stretch out and raise dipoles and verticals, with long radial stretched around.

Already the previous day we had several radio contact to define the last details for the release, and so other friends of the "Mountain QRP Club" in Bolzano ( http://mountainqrpclub.org/ ) joined us to keep us company and see the work of the new directive 2 elements "portable" for 20 and 40m created by IN3RYV (Sergio) and IN3RYE (Joseph).

The day in the morning it was projected calm and warm, but in the afternoon there was a bit 'of wind that just did not sway the vertical and the temperature dropped, making it necessary to pull out from the pack jacket, but then we were more than 1,200 meters above sea level.

We quickly stretched between two trees a multiband dipole, mounted a fishing rod with a dozen and a radial wire mesh (-mesh) and then mounted as a counterweight to the Directive. So

via links, alternating with calls and listening to the various antennas and in different ways. In fact the purpose of the day was to test the antennas.

IN3RYE called 817 using her with 2W of power and due to the Directive could conclude several QSOs, of which one with a QRB of over 5000 km (20m).

IN3RXG (Mauritius) responded to some calls in 40m, operating with 100W dell'857 while IN3EBJ (Paola) at a moment in which IN3RXG had left, lowered the output to 5 w Quick Link 3 Italian stations.

Meanwhile the friends who had come to us asking for information, gave advice, photographed, tried other equipment qrp.

So we spent a nice afternoon with the cool mountain air, taking home 22 connections, of which 16 in QRP.
