How To Connect A Ceiling Fan To Its Regulator

Monte Zugna

Being on vacation in a few days Vallarsa (Link from Rovereto in Schio / Vicenza), IN3RXG (Mauritius) and IN3EBJ (Paola), we decided to go to the mountain Zugna to make some connection in 2 meters as a team " 59piĆ¹20 .

To reach the mountain from Rovereto Zugna take the road from the district up towards Santa Maria Bell of the Fallen, which plays every night at 21 to remember the fallen of the wars. Do not follow the signs to Vallarsa as lead on the opposite side of the valley.
Go up the road for about 4 km until the village Albaredo and before the village, turn right up the road (well marked) to the upstream Zugna.

from here in about 20 minutes to travel the nearly 12 km required to reach the refuge . We have stopped here, but those who want to continue can walk in just over an hour and reaches the Peace Park and then the rope Zugna (SOTA TN-018)

The refuge hut Zugna "has been recently renovated and although he lost a bit 'its character as a" refuge "is certainly very functional and comfortable.

after parking the car near the nearby observatory, we went to the hut for lunch .
Around 13:00 we went back to the car and we set the directive for 2 meters and we started making calls to both south and north, but there was total silence and no one has responded to our calls.

This time, for reasons of space, we had brought only a small battery, 9A, and then went out in QRP (5 W) .
However, so far with the VHF we have never had much luck!

IN3EBJ While continuing to call on 144.300 MHz, IN3RXG hoisted the fishing rod at the top of which was attached a longwire .

had to do at least some connection to "save face" and not frustrated this output.

Thus, while the sky was beginning to get cloudy and the outside temperature fell to 12 degrees, IN3RXG began to call on the 40 m, which is quite often open even in the early afternoon.

At 16 we had an appointment at the valley bottom, and so after 5 links we were forced to dismantle the station, however, this happy experience in QRP.
